My application for Healthy kids(for my baby)is approved by Michigan health dept. How to cancel group insurance?

How can i cancel the group insurance plan that my employer is providing becasue my indian company enrolled me for their group health insurance plan and told that once you enroll, untill their is any reasonable reason you cannot cancel it. How can i cancel it now ? They cut 940 dollars.

You can’t, until open enrollment.

You need to have a qualifying event. The only qualifying event to delete a child, is the death of the child.

This is an IRS regulation – tax law. It’s not your employer, and it’s not your insurance company.

How come health insurance companies are allowed to discriminate against people with disabilities?

How is it legal for health insurance companies to discriminate against people with disabilities (I mean, medical disabilities), but other companies are not allowed to, like grocery stores are not allowed to? Or maybe it IS legal for other businesses to discriminate against people I am really just curious, that’s all. About the legal process. Health insurance companies kind of make me mad, because of this issue. I know I am expressing a political opinion, but I ask you not to troll. If you have a different opinnion thatn me, you can argue for it, but please don’t start trollin.’

You mean in writing policies? That’s one of the reasons we need health care reform, the insurance companies exclude people with pre-existing conditions. Which kind of ruins the whole concept of insurance, which is based on pooled risk.

What reputable health insurance companies are out there?

My mom doesn’t have health insurance and my job doesn’t give insurance to family members.

I would like to pay monthly to a health insurance company so my mom could get health check up when she needs it.

Do you know any health insurance companies that can accept low monthly payments since I don’t get paid that much?
We live in northern california.

Well, if she’s 40 and perfectly healthy, it’s going to cost her about $500 a month to have a low/no deductible plan that covers checkups.

You BUY it on a month to month basis. If you want low monthly payments, you have to cut the coverage – like take a $10,000 deductible. Or higher. That would cut payments down to maybe $200 a month or less.

The older she is, the less healthy she is, the more it costs.

Your best bet, is to find a local, independent agent, who can help you balance cost with coverage.

Hurricane Ike was 14 months ago…are insurance companies holding out on property owners?

Hurricane Ike was 14 months ago…are insurance companies holding out on property owners?

It’s been 14 months since Ike and hundreds if not thousands of properties still haven’t recovered and been restored to their condition prior to the storm. In December of 2009, I toured Hurricane Ike damaged properties in Galveston, Harris, Ft. Bend, Waller and Montgomery County with my associate Clarence. He helps commercial property owners work with public insurance adjusters so they can once and for all settle on a fair recovery amount the owner deserves.

The damage from Hurricane Ike in many of these areas is still very substantial and it seems like a lot of insurance companies are either “holding out” or “short changing” policy holders. I personally know several owners that were told by their insurance companies that their damage wasn’t enough to substantiate them paying their deductible which later turned out to be false information.

Think about it, the insurance companies send their adjusters which is a conflict of interest, to pay out as little as possible and stretch out any payment as long as possible. The insurance companies game is complicated. They have the numbers in people and money to push the little guy until you just give up.

Commercial property owners who are still suffering may want to consider hiring a reputable public insurance adjuster to help them settle a claim. Did you know that even if you’ve received money from an insurance company you can get additional funds if a portion of the coverage on your policy was overlooked just by getting a 2nd opinion at no charge?

That’s what happened with one of the properties in this video. A condo association was short changed by an insurance company on their 1st settlement receiving less than the existing loan balance so they couldn’t even tear it down or rebuild it. We referred them to a public insurance adjuster with 25 years of experience and he is on the case with the hope of recovering 2x what the original settlement was!!!

Are insurance companies not honoring their policies?
